Previously, in Eberron 4E…
This session was a combination of role play, story development, and shopping. The group had just finished the Bug Hunt mission and collected their reward from Molric, and had learned more about Ashurta’s Tomb and the artifact they recovered.
The Party got a chance to relax and rest after spending a few days delving in the Depths. The following day, the party went along with Kal to Melgrave University to speak with a contact of his, Professor Gydd Nephrete.
It was at the meeting with Professor Nephrete that the party learned that Kal was in the Depths for an entirely different reason, unbeknownst to the party. He was there to find confirmation of flying Kuthriks, something that has never been seen before. There were reports and rumors that had reached the university, but nothing concrete. Kal was contracted to delve into the Depths and see if he could find any flying Kuthrik eggs. Kal did one better, brining back not only a small clutch of eggs, but a relatively undamaged (but very dead) specimen.
While with the professor, the party learned more about the ancient relic they had uncovered from the tomb – Asherta’s Blade. They learned that it is one piece of a powerful ancient goblin artifact known as the Ashen Crown, that is said to have power over death itself. She said that she would do some more research on the Blade, as well as the Crown, and follow up with the party in a couple of days.
On their way back from the university, while traveling through the streets of Sharn, a handful of ow’s circled and landed next to the party. They were large owls with leather harnesses bearing the Brelish sigil, marking them as official government message carriers. The owls were obviously Magebread.
The owls carried with them a message for each member of the party – a summons to the Kings Citadel mid-day tomorrow.
In the meantime, the party continues on their way back to the tavern. On their way, they encounter a food cart selling Drow dishes. Most of the party partakes of the Spider bread-bowl, and the curly fryders. Everyone who tried it rolled high for enjoyment, so it was the best street food they’ve had in some time.
Back at the tavern, the party decides it’s time to celebrate with a few rounds of drinks. Strong drinks. Drinks that caused hallucinations and several saving throws.
We had to wrap things up before we could really get into the results of the drinking contests and games, but it’s safe to say that most of the party is going to be hung over the following day. In fact, a couple party members may even be at a disadvantage to most/all dice rolls.
